Vehicles in Second Life are made through scripting with LSL. Any object can become a "vehicle" simply by dragging a vehicle script into it. A vehicle is automatically physical and the types of vehicles are airplanes, balloons, boats, cars, and sleds (although the properties can be adjusted to become virtually any type of movable object). The current vehicle system was introduced in 1.1 but, prior to that, residents already made vehicles using the standard physics functions. The first vehicle was supposedly a magic carpet made by bUTTONpUSHER Jones. Kazenojin was an early group based around the Grey sim who created realistic flying machines.
