This is a list of grouping of sims to easier find a specific sim. Categories are chronologically ordered on this page, an alphabetically sorted sorted list can be viewed via the Category page. You are greatly encouraged to add information of your own!
Some rules to keep this all organized:
- Try and keep the sims themselves in alphabetical order.
- Name the entries for sims the exact spelling of the sim.
- Keep all entries for each sim in chronological order as best as you can.
- Pictures are good, but keep them sane and useful.
If we keep to these rules it'll make it much easier in the future, since there are SO many sims. Thanks!
Main Grid
- San Francisco Sims - The original sims named for streets near Linden Lab in San Francisco, CA, USA.
- Color Sims - Sims named after colors.
- Mythology Sims - Sims named after gods, goddesses, heroes, legends, and the like.
- Coast Town Sims - Sims in the south named after towns along the California coast.
- Islandia - Sims in the southeast of Sansara, often but not always named after painters or residents.
- Lost Lakes - Lost Lakes Region; located to the east
- Nova Albion - Nova Albion, The City Sims
- Snowland Region - Colder Climate Sims; located to the south
- Hidden Lakes - Hidden Lakes Region; located to the east
- Volcano Island Sims - Subtropical sims, vaguely Hawaiian-inspired, with a big volcano in the middle of them.
- Heterocera - Collection of sims added north of the main grid on 3/22/05.
- Estate Sims - Privately-owned sims
- Sandboxes
- Business Sims - Real Life companies are finding their way into Second Life.
- Other Sims - Other miscellaneous sims that don't fit in any category above.
