Kirkby -- along with Ambleside and Waterhead -- is a Linden-owned sim that is part of the Linden Village complex. Kirkby houses the southern portion of the (in-world) Linden Office.
The sims to the west, Brampton and Seascale, are also Linden-owned and may be reserved for future village expansion or other development.
