An item is something that can be taken to inventory and can sometimes have its permissions modified. An item's name can be up to 63 characters and its description up to 127. Items in Second Life are: animations, bodyparts (eyes, hair, shapes, etc.), calling cards, clothing (shirts, shoes, socks, etc.), gestures, landmarks, notecards, objects, scripts, snapshots, sounds, and textures.
