Nodoka Hanamura, also known as Nodoka Hanamura-Nu Vaughn, NODOHANA, and simply as 'Nikki' by close friends and associates, is a Co-founder and Eques of the Virtual Existance Society, as well as the Chief Executive Officer of MIRAI Group, a Multi-platform gaming organization that superceded the now defunct GrunSolutions K.G. in 2018.

Background[]

One of the daughters of the Nu Vaughn family headed by matriarch Chacha Nu Vaughn, Nodoka Hanamura began her presence in Second Life under a as of yet undisclosed name prior to her current Rezday in 2014. She has stated in the past that this new avatar was made following her first account having been compromised. She reports to have first entered SL proper, at NCI's Kuula Infohub, and for a time, had residence temporarily in the nearby city of Gulfport.

Around the same time, outside of Second Life, Nodoka Hanamura would establish the YSFlight 8th Tactical Fighter Squadron - 'Grun', based on its' Ace Combat Zero counterpart. This group would soon become GrunSolutions, a virtual combat and civil service organization that would have a brief presence in Second Life before dissolving in 2018 and reemerging as MIRAI Group at the dawn of 2019.

Hanamura's activity online has seen her at the forefront of numerous movements, such as the GamerGate scandal that revolved around ethics in games journalism, political biases in the games industry and corruption, as well as being a overall vocal and opinionated person.

At one point, Hanamura was banned from White Star Airfield over the defense of a person who had been accused by numerous people as being a Nazi. Hanamura states to this day that her intent was to protect the person's freedom of expression and had no knowledge of the person or their actual political leanings, assuming the person in question was only interested in WW2 Paraphernalia. For reasons unknown, her ban was later lifted, and in 2020, she revisited the situation and recanted her defense of the resident in question, later learning that they were Paul Baumer, a well known Nazi Sympathizer who had been a member of the controversial New Bastogne RP sim's Axis Forces, which she was unaware of at the time, and has profusely apologized for defending.

In 2017, Nodoka would meet Second Life machinima maker Luca Grabacr, following discovering him on Youtube. She would later go on to be a co-founder and Eques (A formal title for representative) of the Virtual Existance Society, and would use her newfound position to act in what she considers the best interests of the Second Life population, calling for a retirement of the General rating, custom last names and an overhaul of the platform. Serving as an anti-thesis of sorts at times to her superior in the VES, Luca - she often uses her position to call out Linden Lab on numerous occasions for their faults and mistakes, most notably, calling for the closure of Sansar, following the exponential growth of VRChat, a direct competitor to Sansar - and demanding Linden Lab to do more to impove Second Life.

One other notable thing about Hanamura is that she is no stranger to sexual deviancy and sees Sex and Adult-related businesses and interests as important to Second Life as their more mundane counterparts, often engaging in both.

Outside of Second Life, Hanamura operates MIRAI Group's non-Second Life divisions, acts as the SYSOP for the NeoCincinnati BBS, and has served as the administrator (briefly) of YSFlight Headquarters, the Hyokkuda's Squad Discord, and maintains a social media presence (albeit begrudgingly at times as stated by her) on Twitter.
